Happy New Years Eve!

So been up all night with my 21 month old and I have a sneaking suspicion I will be doing the same thing tonight. She has been running a fever since Tuesday night. She has a croup cough and a severe sinus infection. Last night the puking started from 9 last night til current. I am lucky she drinks formula or the house would really stink of puke ha ha. I have washed all her bed coverings 2 times now and washed my 3 year old's too. I have scrubbed the floors and changed various outfits. She has only been able to sleep 1/2 hour today because of puking and coughing. She cant even cry right her voice is so deep I feel so bad. She isn't eating or drinking much just trying to push fluids. Doctors say since she just started antibiotic yesterday give it til Monday and if she is still suffering then bring her back in. I think I am in for a long weekend. Fingers crossed she is keeping enough of the antibiotic down to help and hope she responds to it soon.

Another update on my Kidneys stones. They CT scan showed 6 in my right kidney and significantly more on the left. So He sent me in for a KUB xray to see if he could see if they were calcium stones like my last ones so he could go in and zap them with lithotripsy or surgically remove them with a basket. Well results are in and he cant see them on the Xray so cant zap them or surgically remove them good chance that they are Uric Acid stones which makes it hard to treat them. His last hope is for me to do another xray after I do a bowel cleansing and fingers crossed he can see them then. Its pretty sad that we pray a colon cleanse will work ha ha. If not I don't know what he will do so I am praying this works so bowel cleanse on Mon and Tues and xray on wed Ill let you know what happens. For now lots of water and cranberry juice and pain killers.

On a good Note I got all the Christmas stuff down and put away. The house looks normal again. I got the whole upstairs cleaned except kids room since that's tomorrow task. Plus I got the whole down stairs cleaned. I sanitized everything with Lysol so my house smells like a floral scented hospital but hey germ free hope that prevents the last 3 kids from catching the nasty bug along with mommy and daddy from catching it. Good luck right ha ha especially since my 21 month old sleeps in my room and climbs into my bed between 4 and 6 am til I get up. I even got all the towels washed, all the jackets washed, and 3 loads of clothes washed. Now only 5 more loads of clothes to wash and then put them all away. I feel very accomplished today even with a sick kids and grouchy other kids and kids that really need to go back to school ASAP!!!

I feel like I am ending 2009 in a good way. Getting rid of the past and moving on to the future. I got alot of tough thing to start out the new year with like health issues and then court issues with taking visitation away from my ex husband. But 2009 was a long year with all its ups and downs so here's to wishing and hoping 2010 is gonna be awesome!!

New Years goals:
1. get court visitation changed

2. get health issues figured out

3. exercise more (for the whole family)

4. eat healthier (for the whole family)

5. Get more financially stable

6. Move into a bigger house

7. work more on my marriage ( more date nights and mommy and daddy time)

So what are your New Years Resolutions?? Anything new? What are you looking forward to this up coming year?

Colgate review and giveaway ends Jan 8th

I am a huge fan of Colgate products for myself and my kids. I have used their toothbrushes for years now since I have such sensitive and soft teeth I need a really soft brush and it is so hard to find those. Colgate carries a variety of different toothbrushes and tooth pastes. I got my kids all a spinning brush this year from Colgate because I love them and I know they will get my kids teeth cleaner. The best part is Colgate is alot cheaper than all the other brands.

I personally love the taste of the toothpastes Colgate carries. I am a mint toothpaste fan but I don't like it severely minty either. I know I am picky but Colgate has what I like ha ha. You can blame my dentist for that. He gave me a toothbrushes and a small tube of Colgate toothpaste after my cleaning and I fell in love. After all if my dentist likes it I know it must be good. You should really check their products out you will be surprised on how much you will love them too.

Colgate is giving one of my lucky readers a Tube of the Total Advanced Clean plus Whitening tooth paste and a New Colgate 360 sensitive extra soft toothbrush with tongue and cheek cleaner. That one awesome prize!!

Christmas fun

So how was everyone's Christmas? Mine was pretty good. I got everything wrapped and set up and the kids were up at 630 so not too bad lol. The kids got alot this year even with the troubled times. I was so worried that something was gonna happen because for the last 10 years i have either been sick, had surgery, fell down the stairs last year and broke my back, went through a divorce and etc. so Holidays have been tough for me well this year (knock on wood) has been good. I mean the little things like my baby has had a sinus infection, teething and the whole allergy issue made it tough for the holidays and now my 3 year old has the cold but nothing too bad. We had a great dinner of Spiral cut ham, Apple craisen sausage stuffing, Rolls, Oreo truffles, sugar cookies, Swet potatoes, home made apple cider, and cake.

The kids got everything they could think of I think lol. They got digital cameras, my baby got a power wheels quad, stroller, my son got the remote control car and air hogs and the pokemon binder with all the card sleeves in it to hold all his cards, lots of games. The 4 oldest all got a wii game. My 3 year old got her moxie car and make her own backpack she asked santa for along with a cleaning set to clean her room. She is perticular like that she loves cleaning. She has been sweeping and mopped and dusting the whole house. my 5 year old and 7 year old got v smile pocket and v smile cyber pocket and I must say I like the cyber pocket 100 times better becuase the v smile pocket has gave us nothing but problems since we opened it. I am gonna call v tech today or tomorrow to see what the heck is wrong with it. I know I should take it back to the store but honestly I dont want to exchange it for another one if its gonna do the same thing and then I could return it and get the cyber pocket but thats another $20 more. I honestly have a few toys I bought personally for my kids this year Id like to put on the junk not worth your money list and gripe the companies out trust me. You might hear me do a blog about them because I am very disapointed in the products.

Over all we had a awesome christmas and look forward to the New Year!! So any New Years Resolutions?? I got a few that I will share on New years day I think haha!!

Tragedies happen so support each other!!

I am so sick of hearing people bash other mothers during their time of tragedies and the time they need to be supported most. Accidents do happen every second. You can watch you kids every second never touch a computer or talk on the phone but they will and do still happen honestly are you gonna drag all your kids in the bathroom with you and lock the door every time you pee or poo or take a bath. How about while cooking dinner are you gonna chain them to the fridge so you know where they are? and god forbid you vaccuum or clean house you might not be able to hear them so you better dog leash them to your leg but honestly we cant watch them every second.

Now I can see if you dont know where your child is for 30 minutes or a hour yes then you might be a little bad but accidents usually happen with in less then 2 minutes of disappearing so Think about that that is a quick bathroom break or a quick throwing the laundry in or a quick popping the dinner in the oven. People really give us mothers a break we are awesome parents and accidents happen let us grieve and instead of bashing us why dont you be an angel and lend us your support and colendences. You are not GOD there for you dont have the right to judge!!! He is the only person allow to judge anyone and everyone. And for the ones that are wrong or bad he will judge them on their judgement day not you. You are suppose to LOVE THY NEIGHBOR!!!

The Flip Book review and giveaway ends Jan 1

We love reading in this house. We do bedtime stories everyday as well as 20 minutes of homework reading for the oldest three. I do a bedtime story in each room which means there are alot of stories in just one week lol. I love finding new fun books for the kids that will keep them entertained as well as help them learn something. Plus with different ages and different levels of reading skills I have alot of books. My hardest is finding something for my 7 year old who is about a full grade level in reading and at our school they don't have reading help for kids above 1st grade which is dumb. I try and use the books that are for my little ones with small words and only a few words but the only problem is she memorizes them so she don't learn to read anything. So when I heard about The Flip Along Fun Book I was intrigued. It seemed like a great book for her to learn to read and we could change it up everyday so she is not memorize the book.

The Flip Along Fun Book was written by Michael Dowling and Illustrated by Sarah Buell Dowling. Kids will be introduced to rhyming, numbers, colors, addition and logical thinking with this awesome book. So not only will they be learning to read they will be learning other things without even knowing they are learning them. That is awesome.

The Flip Along Fun Book is separated into three sections with nine pages for flipping in each section. So a total of 27 pages in a way. Each page has different animals that each display different numbers and a different scenario of the story. First you pick which first section page you want, then the second section of the story, and then you look for the last page that incorporates both of the animals. When the last page is matched up, the numbers will add up correctly as well. So it would be something like this, "The 3 animals wanted to fly their red kites so they went to the park. Page 1. They met 2 dogs at the park who were playing with a yellow Frisbee. Page 2. Then the 5 animals had a picnic together on a blue blanket and had lots of fun. Page 3." Don't mind my crappy story telling this is why they are the writers and I am not ha ha. Anyways you get the point right? They learn reading, then adding, and colors. They even learn logic and story telling.

This is a great way for your children to spark their imagination and their learning skills without fighting them to do it. Honestly they will love learning and have a blast with this book. All my kids love it and they are ages 11, 9, 7, 5, 3, and 1. So it is great for all ages. This would make a great gift also!!

The Flip Along Fun Book is giving one away to one of my lucky readers. Awesome!

Human Body detectives review

So I went to school for the medical field and one day I plan on continuing my degree in the medical field . It is something that interests me a great deal and I try get my children interested in it to because the human body is something very interesting. So when I was approached to review Human Body Detectives book I was like you bet you bottom I want to try this out. I wasn't sure what to expect being something about the human bodies but I was intrigued to see it.

When the Human Body Detectives book arrived I thoroughly looked through it and loved what I saw. It is a CD the kids listen to and then a workbook they do afterwards to see what they learned. This reminds me so much of school and it is fun for the kids. I did this with my oldest 3 since the younger ones didn't quite understand it yet but they did listen to it too. My oldest who is 11 really loved learning about the immune system and colds especially right now with the whole Swine Flu pandemic going on. She has so many questions about it all and this really helped her realize how it all works.

My son who is 9 loved it also. He loves learning how the body works. He wanted a microscope to look at cool things which we got for him last Xmas. He used to watch Magic School Bus and he used to love looking through my medical dictionary but that arose to many ewws and discussions lol. So this was neat to him to learn how the whole body works together to get things done.

My 7 year old didn't quite grab all of it but she liked listening to it and learning about stuff. She did learn some stuff and was able to answer some of the questions but I think if she heard it again she probably be able to answer them all. Overall this was a fun CD and workbook. I now plan on getting the other Human Body Detectives book for them. It was alot of fun and couldn't of came at a better time either the whole Flu stuff going around.

I recommend the Human Body Detectives book to everyone with kids 6+. It is a great Christmas present and will help them learn and have fun at the same time. It is a great thing for your kids. Right now they are having a awesome Holiday sale so head on over and check them out!

Gummy Lump review and giveaway ends Dec 25- closed winner annouced mon.

This Christmas I searched high and low to find toys for my kids that would keep their interests for more than 5 minutes and they would like and have fun with. I found alot of cool things one of those things came from Gummy Lump. They have great toys that are educational and great priced and will keep your children entertained. That is important to me and I love that they have that.

We received the Decorate your own princess mirror from Gummy Lump. I love that it is a heavy sturdy mirror that my kids wont break in minutes. My girls loved that they got to decorate it all by themselves. This sparked creativity, interest, and lots of fun. They now treasure this mirror because they made it. It was very special to them that they got to make it the way they liked it.

This is a great activity toy for all girls who love to play dress up, love art, love makeovers, love princess and so much more. This will be a loved toy for many years to come. I love the make of this toy since like I said before it is very sturdy and it is well made. I would recommend Gummy Lump toys to everyone looking for toys that last and are good for all ages.

Gummy Lump is giving one of my lucky readers a decorate your own princess mirror.

Soles4Souls is an international charity dedicated to providing footwear to disadvantaged people around the world. Their global efforts primarily target orphanages throughout Central and South America, Europe and Africa. Tasty Tuesday

Chocolate dipped treats

Ingredients:
chocolate chips (white , chocolate, dark chocolate, peanut butter, butterscotch or whatever)
treats ( marshmallows, graham crackers, any cookies, strawberries, pretzels, or sponge cake)

Directions:
1. Place chocolate chips in bowl and place in microwave for about 2 minutes to melt, a little more even not completely melted. I usually do two or three different kids in different bowls for a variety.

2. dip your treat half way into the chocolates and then place on cookie sheet you then can drizzle different kinds of chocolates on them for the look or the kids love sprinkling sprinkles on them or we have even dipped in nuts or coconut too.

These are super easy and fun for the kids to help make. You can do a variety and make yummy dessert trays for the holidays they will be a hit! Plus no one has to know you made them so easily ha ha!
