Easy, fast and yummy Holiday snack idea- Cracker Barrel Cheese

When I think of the Holidays I think of food. Which foods? Well Ham, Turkey, Cranberry sauce, Sweet Potatoes, rolls, Veggie tray and a meat cracker and cheese platter. At least that is our tradition and any holiday or event that lots of people come over to eat. My favorite appetizer or snack is the meat , cheese and cracker tray. Me and my family have this many times a year just because it is easy fun and yummy. We do it on the holidays and Wrestlemania and birthdays. I am picky when it comes to cheeses though. I like good quality cheeses with a few different kinds. I do a Pepperjack cheese, a Swiss cheese and and cheddar cheese. My husband love a very sharp cheddar though. So when we got the chance to try out Cracker Barrel Limited Edition Holiday reserve cheese I thought this would be interesting to try since we have heard alot of hype about them.

Our Cheese arrived a few days later and we could wait for our night time snack. We got the kids to bed and me and my hubby sat down with some crackers, the Cracker Barrel cheese and some salami. First we tried just the cheese and liked it. It was creamy, nutty sharp taste to it. It was good. It had a bit of a bite to it but it was wonderful. Then we ate it with the crackers and meat and mmm mmm good. Before we knew it me and my hubby had eaten the whole loaf of cheese. This is definitely something we will be adding to our holiday cheese and meat tray. I actually could wait to try some of the other cheeses they have so I bought some of the Baby Swiss and the Vermont white cheddar as well and loved them just as much. So our holiday meat and cheese tray has turned into a Cracker Barrel cheese tray lol.
This cheese is only available at grocery stores until January 1, 2011.  You can find it in your deli and cheese section.  The suggested retail price is $3.99 – $4.99 for a 10 oz. package as compared to a specialty cheese that can cost upwards of $8.49 per 10 oz. You can find other Cracker Barrel cheese at the stores all year round but I do suggest trying the Holiday Reserve one better its gone! This is a quick, easy, and affordable appetizer!
