Tasty Tuesday

Cake Pops for Beginners

I am NOT known for my baking skills in the kitchen! But, I have always wanted to learn how to make cake pops. Cake pops also happen to be one of the most difficult things to bake. (Not after this recipe!) After a few failed attempts, I finally found a foul proof way to create these delicious treats that will convince my family that I’m a pro!

Ingredients:
  • Desired flavor of cake mix
  • Cream cheese frosting
  • Cake pop sticks
  • White chocolate
  • Milk chocolate
Directions:
  1. Bake any cake with regular instructions (I recommend strawberry flavored)
  2. After cake cools, use your hands and crumble it up in a large bowl.
  3. Mix in about ½ of the can of frosting.
  4. Roll the mixture into quarter-sized balls, and place on wax paper.
  5. Cover the ends of the cake pop sticks in melted white chocolate, and put them halfway into the rolled cake balls.
  6. Place in fridge until the white chocolate hardens.
  7. Once hard, gently roll the entire cake pop in melted white chocolate.
  8. Allow them to harden in the fridge again.
  9. Once hard, drizzle melted milk chocolate on them, and place back in fridge to harden for the last time!
You can package them in cellophane bags, and tie it with a bow for any special event or simply place them on a nice platter at your next dinner party with family or friends.
